The one I share in this course is more appropriate for learning the project management fundamentals. You might have noticed that in my other LinkedIn courses, I use a more simplified project canvas when talking to senior leaders. And finally, the where, or the organization culture, priorities and context, internal and external, where the project is being carried out.
These are the hard aspects of projects: definition, design, plans, milestones, cost, risk, procurement, as well as the soft aspects: motivation, skills, stakeholders, change management and communication. The who, those who are accountable and governing to make sure the project is resourced and delivered. The why, or the rationale and the purpose for launching and implementing the project successfully. I have grouped them into four major domains. The Project Canvas is composed of 14 dimensions, the ones that research has proven to influence and determine project success. If you focus on these elements and apply the techniques behind them, project success will almost be guaranteed. Every project, regardless of the industry, the organization: profit or nonprofit, the sector: public or private, or whether it is a personal or professional, is composed of exactly the same elements, which determine whether the project is a success or a failure. The framework is based on this important premise. One of the main purposes of this course is to provide you with an easy-to-apply framework to help you succeed in this new project-driven world. Humans must gather together around the purpose of the project, dividing up the work, bonding, interacting, and addressing emotional aspects to create a high-performing team. Projects can't be carried out by machines. I believe that project-based work will increase its focus on people. The good news is that project-based work is human-centric. We are all becoming project leaders, even though many of us have never been trained to do so. In the new world driven by constant change, projects are becoming essential to deliver results and create value.
